Congress wants investigation into BCS for anti-trust: Still no playoffs.

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

Great read by at CBS Sportsline called Three D.C. Stooges miss mark on BCS pie-slinging. If you haven’t heard, three congressmen wants to look into the BCS for anti-trust violations. I guess Iraq has ended and gas is $1.00/gallon again?

This ain’t gonna make a playoffs. If you want playoffs in football, go to the NFL. Who says playoffs are the best way to determine a champion? Quit whining. The BCS is the best thing to happen to the national championship, so far. The bowl dilution is a small problem. 35 bowl games for 119 (soon 120) teams? that’s some really poor records getting bowl games, where being in a bowl game used to mean something, now it’s like the rest of society:

You showed up! Congratulations! Here’s your prize!!

I like college football as it is: Every game in the regular season matters. It matters so much that you watch Hawaii vs. Washington even though you’ve never been West of the Mississippi River.
